I am an entrepreneur and a tutor by profession and secretary of the ICAI Branch. While pursuing my chartered accountancy, I didn’t have many options to take coaching and so on completing my program, I ventured into providing coaching to aspiring CA| CS students. Also, I realized most of the students from commerce background assumed that other than doing a CA or a CS, there weren’t many career options open for them.
After having worked in UAE FOR 7 years as a finance head in big corporates like British Petroleum, Reehycalog, Royal Group; I wanted to come back to my hometown and to do something which helped the students pursuing CA/CS with coaching, something which I think I missed out on while I was doing it.
This motivated me to start ACCA (Global CA) – my new venture, which is certified degree opening other avenues for students who were drop outs of CA/CS or who didn’t make it through in those programs. One thing led to another, as I realized this was providing great career opportunities for students, we went on to introduce more courses like technical accountant, diplomas in IFRS along with tying up with some foreign universities for diploma and degree course curriculum. We also help our students with practical skills and to inculcate, encourage reading amongst our students, we have an open library.
As an effort to give back to society, we have adopted 7 girls from government schools whom we provide with free education and we seek to make them employable and independent at the end of all the trainings. I strongly believe that education can be lot more interesting than it is projected and we are making every effort possible to make it way more interesting. We are proud of some of our students who have gone to score international merits, bagged world ranks and have scored 100%.
I am humbled by awards I have been presented with and the work I am able to do in the field of education for empowering the youth of Udaipur.
