I have been privileged enough that my parents always encouraged me to do whatever I wanted to and pursue my passions. But of course, life wasn’t easy during my early years, as we are four siblings and to provide all of us with quality education was a huge financial burden on our parents. Yet they did their best and provided us with the best education they could. Due to this limitation, I got my education at Bhilwara, which doesn’t have the best colleges so to speak. But it was my dream to put my education to its best use and to become independent.

While I was pursuing my MCA, I got married at the same time. It wasn’t easy to balance a marriage, a family, and getting an education all at the same time. I was often advised to quit college, but I didn’t give up. I tried my best to balance it all and traveled frequently between Bhilwara and Udaipur to finish my degree. However, due to an error made by the college management of marking me as absent, I couldn’t get my degree that year. Yet I pursued them to rectify that and let me take my tests, which eventually they agreed upon; but I was eight months pregnant when I had to write that test in order to obtain my MCA degree. But it as my dream to finish my education and so I did.

I was blessed with a beautiful daughter and I know no less that it’s really difficult to manage work, home and kids, but if you put your heart and mind to it, you can achieve it. Life isn’t a bed of roses; it’s full of struggles, fears, failures, frustrations, happiness and success both. And yes at times it really is difficult to manage office work, household chores, teach children and social activities. But I love all these things and today I have my own identity. So all I can say is that women should try to be independent and not just wait for a tragedy or an unpleasant experience to start working. Prepare yourself for it and not just depend your parents or husbands to take care of you. If a woman wants she can handle all the responsibilities of home and work both.
