Deepa Pant ‘sheetal’

I am an anchor, a poet, a teacher, a mother, a writer and a singer. I am poetic voice of my voiceless “Innocent street friends,” I have been providing food and medical facilities to street animals on road at my own expense since the last 15 years in and around Udaipur.

I actively look for ill and injured animals on streets and roads and provide treatment for maggots, cuts or injuries, wounds, undernutrition, swelling, minor infection etc.

Besides this, I also help children with special needs every month by providing useful things such as stationary, clothes, school bag, sweater etc. I have learnt that this is the best way I like to spend my free time between managing my family and social activities. As a poet, writer and teacher I have enough scope to motivate my readers and students to be kind, aware and compassionate toward street animals. My Facebook page – Me and My Innocent Street Friends “also helps me raise awareness regarding this cause. I have an animal feeder and care-taker card issued by AWBI.

My life is a perfect example of, ‘harmony’ which I derive by taking care of my family, my social life, my literary work and my innocent street friends.
